Alex & I went on a day trip today to London & although it wasn't overly eventful [well it was for us I suppose...] we [I] had the best day of our [my] liveeeees soo farrr.

Alex picked me up at eight from my house & we drove to the station & got a lovely train to London Victoria. Two women sat opposite us talking, one was wittering on about the pineapple studios and she had a black eye & she'd done it at the Chilli Peppers concert. Alex & I just kept quiet. We got to London at just gone 10 [after passing lots of stations &&& the battersea dogs home, canary wharf & the London Eye on the way] We decided to go to Harrods & have a look around. We were under strict instructions to use the buses [my mum isn't keen on the underground] & so we found a bus to Knightsbridge except it was the wrong one & we got lost so we had to find Harrods. & when we did we got lost in there.

Alex made us walk up hundreds of stairs to get to the next level & we took a wander round near the pet shop. They had the most gorgeous kittens - Alex wouldn't buy me one & was being mean to them so I hit her - then we took a wander up to HMV where we saw Siobhan Redmond.... on the back of a DVD. We then wandered up to the toy department & I bought my mum & gran a present in the sale. £3. for the most gorgeous teddy bear i have ever ever seen in my life. & I got served by a woman who could talk for England & discussed the Diana memorial on the lower ground floor. We decided it was time to leave & found the esculators & left [after taking a wander down to the memorial] I very nearly fell up the stairs which probably wasn't very good because i ended up giggling & some people were looking at the memorial - to be honest it's nothing special. & we then found a bus to take us to Piccaddilly.

We found that & got the bus there. We were going to the Haymarket stage door so we headed for the Haymarket. We weren't too sure where the stage door was & next door was some building works so we went round the back of there & waited, hoping we were in the right place. Everyone who really knows me knows that beyond anything I adore Judi Dench. I think she's amazingly talented, one of the best & I just think she rocks. & she's in a play in the Haymarket & I'd been talking to people who'd met her & said she came in early. So we went in the hope I could meet her really...

We stood there for a few minutes before a man wandered over. Alex & I were a bit unsure at first & he asked who we were waiting for & we said Judi as long as she hadn't come in. & he told us she hadn't. & said he'd been there a couple of times. That Judi was one of the nicest people you could meet & that sometimes she would come in as early as 11:30 & others as late as 2pm. & that hopefully she shouldn't be too long. The only trouble was that where they're building if she comes by car, she might go in via the front because it's easier. & we chatted. He said he'd been going round the theatres for a while because now he was over 60 he could get free travel & he'd met some really great people. Some were really lovely & others could be a bit odd. But Judi was one of the nice ones.

There was a van that had been in the road, that moved & we stood there talking. He asked me how I got to liking Judi & I explained I'd watched As Time Goes By when I was 7 & it sort of grew from there & he asked me what I'd seen of her. & I said ATGB, Mrs Henderson Presents, Iris, Mrs Brown, Shipping News. He asked if I'd seen Ladies in Lavender & Tea with Mussolini. & i said yes. I said I loved them both. & he was saying he'd met so many people & he didn't like the dealers who take the pictures to sell them on. & that Judi was worth the wait. It was quite hot & sunny & he said sometimes she walks, sometimes she comes by car. & he guessed she'd probably come by car today because of the heat.

He had a picture of Judi from Tea with Mussolini. & I said how much I loved it & that it was my current desktop picture on the computer. & He had a picture of himself with Judi from when he'd met her before. & the cover of Mrs Brown. & a few minutes later Judi pulled up in a silver taxi. The man we'd been talking to handed me the picture of Judi in Tea with Mussolini & told me to get it signed & personalised. & I had a notebook out & my camera. Judi got out of the taxi & she looked a little tired. She went & put her bag down inside & came out. She looked very summery & she was wandering around with bare feet. The man got what he wanted signed & introduced Judi to me & asked me to sign the picture for me & told her that I'd been her fan since I was 7 & I was her biggest fan since then. & She signed the picture & commented on what a funny colour she looked in it - but she didn't personalise it which i didn't mind - & I lifted it up to reveal my notebook. She asked if I wanted that signed & i said yeah, might as well. So she signed that. Then I asked her if i could possibly have a picture with her & she said of course. So she posed for that & i thanked her & she said goodbye & went inside to get on with what she had to do. The man said goodbye to us. I checked the photo & did my best not to squeal. & then spent the next two minutes shaking, terrified, saying over & over we'd met Judi & i text my gran & my mum & my great aunt & Louisee & a lot of people. & we wandered away to find dinner with me saying every two seconds. 'We met a Dame' 'We met Judi!' Alex didn't get it.

We found lunch & decided to walk to Trafalgar Square to eat lunch before we went to the National Portrait Gallery. We found a spot under a statue at trafalgar square, we started eating & then started getting crowded by people. Alex threw/dropped half her lunch on the ground. & i wasn't overly hungry. We decided that we didn't like the crowd of people so we made our way to the national portrait gallery. I spent the entire time following Alex as she desperately tried to find the lifesize picture of Judi to show me. But then she found it on a computer.

We left there & decided to break the rules & got the tube to Waterloo where we went to see the fish in the Aquarium. We saw lots of fish, some sharks being fed, jellyfish which were seriously cool & seethrough. I took a picture. Terrapins. & my favourites, the rays. We stood for ages touching them in the water. They're so hard to touch & then slimey. But they're so cute & one decided to show off. We took a few pictures & named the verrrry big one Anton. Then we saw a few more fish & a robotic fiiiish. But i don't have a picture. && we left with enough time to do something else. We got the tube to Covent Garden & wandered through there. I dragged Alex into the disney shop where i should never be allowed & she didn't succeed in stopping me from buying anything. We looked around the market before deciding we were too tired.

We got the tube back until we decided it would be much easier to get the bus back to Victoria from Hyde Park corner & waited for that. I upset a lady because it was the wrong bus & i bumped into her when we got off & she dropped her ticket. Mean. Then we finally got the bus but it was packed. So Alex sat & I stood & attacked people with my shopping... We finallly got back to Victoria & found the information thing but they hadn't decided which platform our train was on. So we went in search of ice cream to please Alex - got nowhere. & went into Marks & Spencer. We bought some drinks & stole a plastic spoon on our way back. We went through the barriers & decided that our train was waaaaay too packed to get on so we sat at platform two for a while & wrote together. & then realised our train was actually over on platform four. But we found a seat & sat. Alex whined because the seat was backwards. & we came home & wrote some more & changed seats. That was about it...

So we had the best [i did] daaay & met a dame & saw Siobhan [on the back of a dvd...] & generally had some fun & almost melted. i've got some pictures but i need to resize them & upload them... But me with Judi:
